Sim Speed

Anyone else seeing slower sim speeds than prior years? I could usually sim 20 years in about an hour on 24 & 25, looking at closer to 2 hours now. Same computer MacBook Pro M1.

Yes-The first thing I do with each version is sim 1901 to today just to see what the stats are looking like out of the box. By the time I got to the early 1920's it crawled and got worse from there, much slower than previous years and I am playing on better Mac than the last couple of editions.

Could the addition of the pre-1930s extra minor league teams be a partial culprit?

Not in my case. I run a fictional 30 team MLB setup with 5 minor league levels.

Do note to make sure to have the same settings in both versions. One change we made this year is to set the autosave to monthly, so that might cause some saves to appear to take much longer to sim than in the past when the default was annual.

Matt - Thanks, I'll take a look at that setting. Also seeing a slow down in January of each year (Clearing Schedule can take up to a minute). Don't recall seeing that delay in prior versions.

It's likely all the minor leagues running. It's one of the reasons I prefer no Real Minors. But if you enjoy having the depth of the Real Minors, try going to Game Settings>Global Settings and on the righthand side decide if you need all that stuff saved forever. Even a switch from "Human Teams" to "None" quickens the pace.

That did it. Continuing the same sim they are coming in at a little over five minutes a season changing to monthly.

One of the options is dynamic what is that?

Dynamic I believe is the default option on OOTP GO. There I believe it saves weekly during the season, monthly in the off-season, but also will save on the day of certain events.
