Big Bill Tate?
Has anyone rated heavyweight Big Bill Tate? He was a big man who moved well based on old film, but in his prime mostly lost to other talented black fighters. Dempsey liked him as a sparring partner for a time, so he may have suffered from a sparring partner mentality. You don't want to lose your steady employment by making your boss look bad. So a general lack of aggression. He had some KO power but wasn't a big knockout artist (see previous statement). He probably could have played basketball instead of fighting for a living as he stood over 6'6".
I have him in the game with an overall rating of 4 and a game record of 15-11-5(7 KOs). All of his wins have come against pork & beaners. He was ko'd by Cleve Hawkins, Dave Sawyer, Lou Moreno, Andy Smith and a punching bag named Joe Guthrie. Compared to his real-life record, I think he should be doing better. Cap

Cool. I wonder where the main differences are between what I have and what you do?

Here's what I found on my copy of TBCB 2.0. No idea if it came with the game or was later created by a member of the forum.

Managed to download the file to a copy of TB 2013 that I don't actually use and transcribed his numbers to my working copy of TB 2.5. Ran some fights in the auto scheduler. He has an edge over Andre Andersen, Joe Bonds, Dan Daly, Bob Devere, Sailor Grande, Soldier Kearns, Tom McCarty, Sailor White, Jack Thompson and a past-his-prime Frank Moran but loses to Kid Norfolk, Bill Brennan, Tom McMahon and Jim Coffey more often than he wins. He also went 47-48-5 against Tom Cowler.
