Whew. We will take it and leave town now, thank you very much. See you in September at Yankee Stadium.

P.S.: Our turn with the Dodgers is coming in late May. At Dodger Stadium.

P.P.S.: Today's managers are bozos. Okay, Fried was done. Luke Weaver pitched a good eighth inning, so why not leave HIM in for the ninth? But no. We have to scientifically manage; bring in the closer in a non-close situation to "fine-tune" him or something because he hadn't pitched in a few days. And we saw the result. If I am the manager, I play to win the game each and every day. I don't abuse pitchers but I certainly don't baby and micro-manage them. They are young men, dedicated and highly-paid. They ought to be able to stretch and keep themselves ready. Okay, sorry to take up thread space with this, but it had to come out.

Rogers, Perez, Meadows, Vierling. Torres, Margott, Lange, Cobb - we need someone, somewhere to get healthy!

Another series win and more regulars due back to the lineup soon. Dare I allow myself to get hopeful?

The Tigers are 5-0 this year when I'm watching.

This is your chance to put a plan together that allows me to reduce my office hours and increase my Tigers hours.

Keep watching!

I can't do anything about your work hours but I can offer some motivation of sorts. In the eighties while I was in college, I worked at a furrier in Brewer, Maine as a skinner. I was paid 75 cents per raccoon pelt skinned. Take that as you will.

Wow, that post took a turn!

(slides him a sheet with the stats of the Raccoons' relievers) I'll pay $2.50 a pelt.

Skubal is amazing. The rest of the team, not so much.

Aaargh. I can NOT believe, after closely following that series between the Tigers and the Yankees last week, that I missed this question on Jeopardy last night:

BASEBALL ($1000): The carousel at Comerica Park features not horses but these animals.

I mean, it's not like they didn't show that a number of times on the telecasts.

Royals are on a bit of a downturn. Detroit needs the bats to come back to life!

Fun to watch a game where Carpenter, Greene, and Torkelson go 8-14.

He has absolutely no confidence... at this point I can't even imagine him being effective anymore.

I guess I jinxed it… tough loss today… now please correct me if I’m wrong, doesn’t it seem that every time Skubal pitches he hast to go through an early crisis and only after that he settles down and goes into his rhythm?
Now I don’t understand why we don’t eat Báez’s contract and just cut him… I’d rather go through the growing pains with Jace Jung than watch this over paid piece of crap screw the team over… honestly the poor guy is in a no win situation and he just needs to be cut loose

I've actually thought Baez looks acceptable at the plate this year. Certainly not worth even a fraction of what he is being paid but he has not simply been an open wound providing un-competative at bats one after another.

A lot of the very finest pitchers are like that. If you don't get to them early, they become unhittable later.
