Guidance content specific to Go?
Hi guys,
Wondering if anybody could point me towards any guidance or "tips and tricks" type content specific to the Go app version of the game? There is a ton of content including youtube clips etc. for OOTP in general but unfortunately a lot of the good tips that they give are not applicable to the app version and I haven't had any luck finding anything specific to Go as yet. For example - player development. All the guides I find talk about putting money into the budget, hiring the best coaches etc. etc. but there aren't any coaches in Go and I also haven't found anywhere that I can influence the player development budget......so what can I do to improve player development (and if it's largely just out of my hands then what is the point?). My experience so far is that the significant majority of my players are dropping in rating whenever I have a player development update which is obviously frustrating when I am putting heaps of time into playing the game and not succeeding. Another example is scouting where a lot of the guides say to hire the best scouts (can't do in Go) and to pump most of the budget into international and amateur scouting. I have been doing the latter but I'm not sure that I've had much success from it as I haven't had any meaningful prospects added to my international complex in many years and instances of the game. So is this not the best strategy on the Go version? So I guess what I am saying is that I'm putting a lot of time into the game because I enjoy it and I want to but I also would like to know if I am doing the right things to be successful. I'm not looking to be handed a cheat code as that would be boring but it'd be awesome if I could find some content that gives some guides and helpful tips to be successful in the Go version of the game. On that note - if no content that I can be pointed to then I'd love to hear what kind of strategies that others are using and finding to be successful. Cheers MD4 |

I can't really answer all your questions, but I want to chime in on how to, as you put it "influence the player development budget" and that you haven't found a way to do so.
I'm a little confused by this since you seem to be aware how to change other budget items (like, later you mention you've been told to put most of the budget into international and amateur scouting) If you know how to change those, then changing the overall dev and scouting budget should be similar. I think there may be more than one way to get to the necessary screen, but I always navigate to (team) tab > front office. On that screen you can change the "view" to "finances." Then near the top of that screen you can change the screen to show multiple things like "expenses" and "revenues" .. etc. On the "expenses" screen it lists all budgeted expenses, including scouting and player development. If you tap on any of those line items it will take you into more in depth info. And in the "scouting" and "development" info's, you can change the allocated budget. NOTE: rarely, some owners do not allow their GM to edit these numbers even if you change the setting to allow it in the game. When I create a new fictional franchise save, this is one of the things I always check before continuing, and if I'm not allowed to change it, I just start a different save until the owner allows it. Also note that these numbers can only be edited at certain times, like during the off-season. Hope that helps! I'm with you on all the other stuff. I started playing OOTP GO in '23 and have put 100+ hours into it and what little I've learned is mostly just from trial and error because as you've seen there's very little guidance out there. |

Now that we're past most of the craziness of release we're hoping to add a lot of Go stuff to our new wiki which should hopefully provide more resources for Go players
