Random Debut/Negro League Players
Just got 26(yeah, I caved). I see when creating a random debut league, we now have the option to include Negro League players. Are these the 200+ Negro League players redone by the folks that made the InteGreated Mod, or are these all the Negro League players from the Minor League db?

They use the mod stats. Think of those stats as existing in an alternative csv file (like neutralized stats do) and the game makes the players based on that set of stats (the 212 player MLEs from the mod).
I think it's an imperfect approach (the mod adds the MLE stats directly to the AL/NL csv files and requires no programming) but for most the OOTP26 way will get the job done.

Noticing that none of the Negro League players have their real stats displayed for batting or pitching when one goes to their real stats menu. Only real fielding is present. Is this the way it's supposed be?

Yes. In the mod, the MLE stats are literally in the MLB csv files so you see them. In the OOTP approach the csv is off to the side so they are not visible the user.

My experience so dar is that they perform pretty close to the stats ranges of their official Negro League statistics as found on baseball-reference.com

Is Don Newcombe part of the 200 Negro League players? Reason I'm asking is, he is a two way player in my current league. Pitcher and 1B.

1944 to 1947 have NeL inputs for him. Hard to tell if that is an MLE issue as Catfish Hunter comes in the same way in 1971. It's the default when it can't find fielding data. I'm not a fan of the implementation of the mod once it was handed off to them. If it were done the way Garlon and I did it, it'd be easier to diagnose the issue. But I keep working on players to add...

I have him 1944, 5 for 21 or .238
1945, 10 for 39 or .256 1946, 14 for 53 or .264 1947, 14 for 56 or .250 1948, 15 for 67 or .223 He had a great year at the bat in 1955 and career-wise was pretty good but the MLE AVGs are not .380. Even if I had, the A/Ws would have knocked him back. Mysteries like this are why I like no additional programming between the engine and the stats.

Maybe the best name ever, Spottswood Poles is playing in my league. One of the things I love about this game is, googling the players I've never heard of and learning about their careers. |

Oscar Charleston hit 40+ bombs in 1946 to run away with the home run title. No one else in the league reached 30. |
