Game locks up when opening packs

I've been playing for 2 years now with version 25 and 26.

In the last week, I've had multiple instances of the game locking up after simply opening a pack.

I have to go to task manager and shut it down.

Am I the only one?

Edit: happened even after reboot.

Windows 10/16GB RAM/AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Proc/GPU 8GB
not particularly new but not an ancient machine, either.

Never happened until about a week ago. I opened some packs from the quest line, and it seems to happen more with historical diamond and perfect. Opening a regular pack does not seem to cause this issue.

Note: cards are not lost, but I have to shut down the app completely with Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

I had this issue after opening the Pack booster packs. Especially the perfect pack in the deal. Screen went blank after revealing the cards.

I had the same issue. Resize the game window (don't minimize), then maximize it again and it clears up.

Tried several different ways. Gold packs lock me up no matter if I run in a window or not, or if I resize or not.

It's possible something on your machine is not working with the explosion effects. The 2 options I would suggest to try:
-In the Game->Settings, on the 3d tab, change the OpenGL mode (likely change it to "Use OpenGL only for 3D" as a test)
-In the PT settings, disable the "Show Effects" setting.

If either of those does resolve the issue, please do let us know.

I'm happy to turn off the explosion effect and I did (It didn't help).

It was hard to know what was going on with 3D turned off because in the open pack interface, I couldn't even see the packs.

Edit: explosion effect off and restarting the game seems to have worked.
