Yes. He even got a playoff start against the Yankees one year. It didn't go well.

Nodded a bit in the second half there, but that's not gonna stop me from claiming a full credit for today's W.
Maybe Paddack wants to object and claim a share. ![]() 64-46 and W4 for the Tigers, and 17-4 and W5 for me. ![]()

So Scott Harris comes out and says the price for Suarez was too high. Great narrative until he goes to Seattle for rental prices. Which is probably the bigger issue. Harris may not have the clout with other GM's to be able to get deals done with them. DiPoto in Seattle get two infield bats for something like five prospects outside of their top 10. Detroit has a better farm system than Seattle as well. However, DiPoto has strong relationships with several GM's allowing him to make all those moves.
If you can't get a 3B then see what Boston wants for Duran. It's not like you are getting any production out of CF since Baez of all people went back to the infield. Bednar would soften the blow a bit but they need another bat and to be honest could use another guy in the rotation. |

I am still ok with this and wing it on a hope that they can catch a little lightning in a bottle offensively down the stretch with someone from the batch of Ibanez/Lee/Jung/Sweeney/Workman/Baddoo/Malloy to augment the lineup.

Probably asking for the world for him, but I wonder what Marlins would take for Edward Cabrera? He's not a free agent till 29.

I may be in the minority, but I sort of like what Harris has done, add depth at the margins while giving up next to nothing. Where I fault him and ownership is in not giving Bregman the few more bucks that he was looking for over the winter. That still chaps me.

They just picked up Paul Sewald (who is on the IL) for a bag of balls.
I guess the watch is on now: who comes off the IL first? Cobb, Urquidy, or Sewald?

Kyle Finnegan is a Tiger. Better than Carlos Hernandez, I suppose.

Maybe, but I bet he would have 'wanted' to be in Detroit for another 10mil.

... and Charlie Morton right at the wire!
I assumed that they were adding him to their coaching staff when I first saw the news. :-)

The word is that the Morton pick up was so they can put Melton in the bullpen.

They should contain their excitement, given that 2/3 of those were longtime Mets.
