Tush Push

Eagles ran it twice against Cowboys in game one ........ On other players the player is called down when his forward momentum is stopped ** to prevent defense from holding a player up and stealing the ball ...... in the tush push the momentum is stopped and other players then push him forward ,,, *** The play is allowed , but if the push is allowed in other plays and fumbles occur due to raking at the ball ----- as a coach are up upset ?

I thought they had banned this. Maybe I read that they were thinking of banning this.

Not banned. They used to have a rule that forbid any player to push the player with the ball. At some point that rule changed. They wouldn't need to ban the play. Just reinstate the rule. They can still run the play, but the QB would have to do it by himself.

When Bart Starr scored the game winning touchdown in the Ice bowl, the RB right behind Starr had his hands stretched out, not signaling TD, but to show the refs he wasn't aiding him.
