Right now, my initial answer is that relegation is based on win-loss record, and regardless of if a team finished last in their division, if they have a better record than a team that finishes third in their division that doesn't make the playoffs, then they have a better chance to avoid relegation. It's just purely based on win-loss with regards to relegation.

Everything looks correct here, not sure what you are confused about.
Playoff qualification is the same in league as IRL MLB. Winning a division gets you into the playoffs (Only situation where division placement matters). For the wild card # of wins (Overall record however you want to look at it) gets you in. As for relegation it is strictly by overall record, always has been in every version of PT. |

You can be 3rd in a division but better than another division winner and not make the playoffs (see the 2023 Mariners).

Another win or two and you don't get relegated.

Pro/Rel is a joke
Like the title says what a joke it is how does a team finish forth in there division division with 86 wins get promoted and a team who wins there division does not get promoted and another team who finishes second in there division with 95 nine more than the forth place team In there division get pro over these two teams there’s no excuse or reason anyone can tell me that makes sense, and no the forth place team didn’t win the ws.
Teams promoted 89,87 86 wins teams not promoted win totals of 97,95,90,90 and one was even a division winner make it make sense I mean I do not understand it and I’ve been watching sports with real pro/rel Over thirty years and it’s stupid just shows you what this game is all about or made for not reality but reality of purchases |

OK, first of all, this is the second time you've made a thread about how you believe promotion/relegation is a "joke" in Perfect Team. In fact, it's the exact same title as your first thread. So, let's rehash a few key details from that other thread - that was made just last month! - that are an explanation of how the game works, and why the pro/rel is being done correctly:
You mention a team with 86 wins that finished fourth in their division getting promoted to the league above. This means that this team got into the playoffs in probably a very tough division with good teams that had winning records above them, and got in as the final seed in their conference, and made a deep run in the playoffs. It is very much possible, given how pro/rel works in the game, that this can happen, and I have seen this happen in multiple leagues before, even at the highest levels of the game. To that point about making a deep run, for the majority of leagues, the Top 6 teams get promoted. In Perfect Team, promotion is based strictly on the finish of the teams in the postseason. That means the teams who get promoted are the four teams that make it to the LCS round (2 per conference) and two best teams that lost in the LDS round by regular season record. So, in the situation that you described with that team that had 86 wins, and didn't win the World Series, that means they at the very least made it to the LCS round or were one of the two best records among those that lost the LDS round. With that logic, a team that wins their division may not get promoted sometimes either; that could either mean they were a 3-seed in their conference who lost in the Wild Card round, or they lost in the LDS round but were not one of the two best records among those that lost the LDS round. And, while it may be shocking that a 97-win team might not have gotten promoted (I'd have to see screenshots to see exactly what's up with that), it could mean there were teams with 98, 99, 100, etc. wins that did better in the playoffs. This is the way promotion has worked in PT since the very beginning back in PT19. This is nothing new.

And...
Aside from the pro/rel aspect, they are running their playoff brackets EXACTLY like MLB does. So if you want to complain about how the playoffs work, I suggest you take it up with Mr. Manfred.

Not sure why the OP is so eager to be promoted. Once your team gets promoted beyond their capability, unless you consistently improve the roster, you're not likely to have many winning seasons at all.
I've had more fun this year in lower leagues. The team I spent money on hasn't even had one championship and is down to high gold from high diamond. |
