As-Played Simulations

Hi
A couple of questions.
I'm looking to play as-played replays using actual line ups and starters - kind of like Diamond Mind or Action PC.

1. A while back (I mean a few years), someone showed exactly how to set up a season to get absolute accuracy of overall stats. I tested a season or two, and the league-wide stats were spot on.
I lost the bookmark to it in a computer change, and I just wondered if anyone still has it, or knows where it is, or knows what the correct set up is for this.

2. If I take transactions from baseball reference daily, can I apply those transactions manually to the game, to keep rosters as they were on every day of the season?

Thanks!

It would almost certainly have been a post by Garlon regarding the settings and they would have changed wildly since then, with all of the changes to the game in recent versions.

He might reply on here although he's been a bit quiet of late. In lieu thereof, I have attached a screenshot showing the settings he most recently recommended AFAIK, as part of his and Lans' NeL mod.

As far as manually applying transactions from BBRef, why would you do that and not just apply historical lineups and transactions as part of a historical game?

The only reason I can think of is because you want to incorporate historical minor leagues, for which there are no transactions. I would fervently recommend against that course of action, you'd need two lifetimes to make all of those changes manually.

For the majors, other than a few mistakes along the way you can correct manually, the in-game version should suffice.

Many thanks for that. That looks really helpful.

As far as the transactions go, I may be out of date. The last time I dabbled with OOTP, real transactions weren't an option. You got as-played lineups, but the roster included every player who played for that team in the season - from day 1.

If real-life transactions is an option now, I'll pick up v26 and be off and running.

Thanks again.

They are and, while there are some errors along the way, LansdowneSt has done (and continues to do) an amazing job of greatly reducing their number.

Have fun.

Just be aware that OOTP does not provide as played rosters

The pitchers in your bullpen are not going to be the exact pitchers the real life manager had available on the day the game was played. Nor will the position player subs be the same. Cool thing is, unlike the old days, todays OOTP does follow roster rules when using real lineups/real transactions, so if you have it set to 25 players that's how many players will be available. The remaining players will be on the reserve roster. The game does include real injuries as well.
