Tanner Rainey was the Reds' 2nd-round pick in 2015, making the big team three seasons after that. In the winter of 2018, Rainey was traded to Washington for Tanner Roark, in what's believed to be MLB's only Tanner-for-Tanner swap of hides.

He was part of the Nats' World Championship team in 2019, spent five more years with that team, and has always been fairly useless. I mean, a 5.44 career ERA…in relief?? Yikes.

Williams had a lot of movement on his stuff last night. Still though, you had a lead on the guy and got beat because Cleveland was the team to try something different. Detroit didn't have much of an answer when Cleveland resorted to the bunt. Then once you get to the bullpen it is over.

You really do need to give them credit for realizing they needed an in-game change to what they were doing. When Kwan came up to lead off the sixth, I sighed. My wife asked what was wrong and I said "this guy is a pest, he always is getting on base" ... Even so, I wouldn't have guessed a bunt was coming.
