Kind of shocked that Fried exploded this badly.

Very impressive Vlad jr. slam, though!

I was gonna go to bed (it's after midnight here), but do I really want to miss a team scoring 13 in a playoff game and then exploding to lose the game?

Hmmmmmm....

Sooo are no hitters an extinct species now? Do organizations want to make the sport even more boring?

Well, starters don't pitch complete games very often and relievers usually aren't as good as starters.

Cubs/Brewers at 9:08 est tonight! Why wouldn’t Dodgers/Phillies take that spot with the 3 hour time difference for their fans?? Or put the Cubs and Brewers on at 3 or 4 o’clock? Are you really getting more Midwest eyeballs with a 9 pm start as opposed to a 3 pm one?

I also just realized that they both play in the central time zone. So for them it’s really an 8 pm start which makes way more sense. An 8 pm start is very doable and makes way more sense.

It's 9:35pm and only in the 4th inning. I am ready for bed.

Why on Earth do they schedule an 8pm local start time on a goddamn Monday, or on any day? JFC.

Baseball is a regional sport. Schedule the games in way that's convenient for all fans. Starting games late for television is stupid. Having the NL play a game Saturday, be off on Sunday, play Monday and be off again on Tuesday is stupid. Especially, seeing as they also get Friday off as well if the series requires 5 games. I say schedule this round just like the first round. Have a game starting at noon, another starting at 2, another at 4 etc.

The Fox interviewer telling the Tigers manager that the Mariners pitcher is "pitching a classic high low game" seems like they are giving the Tigers hints unfairly to me.

And so the Legend of Devin Williams continues. Perhaps not as dramatic as the bomb he yielded to Peeeete that was his ticket out of Brew City, but definitely putting his stamp on what looks to be the season-closer. Yoicks.

The better team won that series. Somewhere here I said quite a while ago that the Jays owned the Yankees. That's fine, the Jays played better and Vlad was a monster. They deserve to move on.

Now the usual hue and cry will erupt in New York. "Oh, what a failure! What a disgrace! Another lost season! Boo hoo. " But what will NOT happen, and in this case it should, is for Aaron Boone to be fired.

I'm not denying that the Jays had the better team. (You were down to your final 3 outs and you had Amed Rosario at bat. I rest my case.)

But when you traded for Devin, I seriously doubt that Cashman envisioned him as an unreliable 7th inning guy. So that's a notable downward spiral in one case.

MLB is going to be big sad when their beloved NY, LA, or Chicago don't make the World Series.

And you know what? I would be glad. I am sick of MLB and its mega-marketing crap. I'm rooting for a Mariners-Brewers World Series. I will settle for Blue Jays-Brewers or Tigers-Brewers if I must.

But I believe the Dodgers will put away the Phillies tonight. That means it up to your team to eliminate them!
