I select 2 rows and 5 columns for my Manager's office but I don't get that.

See image. Any idea how to fix this?

That is 2 rows and 5 columns. Your first column shows the split between bottom and top (2 rows).
Your "tasks" (on the top left) is 1 column x 1 row
Your "standings" box is 1 column x 1 row
Your "next game" box is 2 columns wide and 2 rows deep.
Your "league events" and "tasks" (on the right) boxes are 1 column x 2 rows

Go to your screen setup on the top right and open that menu. That will allow you to resize boxes. You should be able to size boxes anywhere from 1x1 to 2x5. That's the good news. The bad news is adjusting these boxes is a bit like a Rubik's Cube. My screens have different sizes of boxes meaning it takes a bit of trial and error to get what I want. It's not as simple as dragging a box where you want it. If you are going for all even size boxes I don't think it should be hard to get it set up.

Please don't ask my why we can't drag and drop. I did not code the game. I just work with it "as is".

So I'm guessing your are looking to have 10 boxes? If so resize any of your larger boxes to a 1x1 size. So when you resize the "league events" to 1x1 a new 1x1 box should appear below it. When you change the large 2x2 box you may see a strange setup. Just keep resizing any resulting box to 1x1 and things should work out.

Hint: it's easier to "see" what needs changing if all of the boxes have different names. IE before you start change one of the "task" boxes to anything else. If one of the new boxes uses an already used name (and it probably will) change one of the names to anything that is not in use. Once you have all of the boxes sized the way you want, that will be the time to assign whatever category you want to each box.

I'll attach my team home screen from v24 since I have a SS already saved from it. I have freehand scrawled the dimensions of the different boxes with the whole screen being 7x3. It's the same setup that I use in v26.
Hope that is clear and helpful.

@Sweed @jpeters1734

I'm trying to transfer my custom views from OOTP 24 to OOTP26.

I tried copying USER.DAT from the 24 config folder to the 26 config folder but that did not work.

Any suggestions?

Make sure 26 is not running when you copy the use.dat file.

The most common mistake, and the only reason I have seen the file not stick, is users go through the settings to open the file location that holds user.dat. They then copy in the file from the previous version. This does not work as OOTP if open will overwrite the new file. To get it to stick you have to close OOTP before copying the file in.

One thing to look for when using the old user.dat file in v26 is they added a couple of new categories. I can't recall which ones for sure but I think there is a "Dem" (short for demand) and maybe? "Rookie" (that may have been there and it's something else) which will display a "yes" or "no" in the column. These don't screw any of your old settings up but they may randomly appear in some of your views.

Views are stored in the data/tables folder, not in the user.dat. You may be able to copy from an old version, but we don't necessarily guarantee that we don't alter the order of some columns between versions, so there's a chance your views won't exactly line up.

Yes, that worked. Thanks again.

Thanks Matt. FWIW I've copied mine if for several versions and haven't had any big problems. If there is an addition or change that causes an issue it's much easier to just clean that up when I find them, rather than rebuilding the ~100 views and tables I've created over time.
