Anyone else play with historical players/fictional teams?
This is one of my favorite ways to play OOTP. I like to start in the dead-ball era or even earlier, and plug "real" players into a state-based league (Arizona, North Carolina).
Anyone else doing this? Any advice for setting up financials or development for long-term play, starting in the early 1900s (or even late 1800s)? I like for my worlds to have true dynasty teams (Yankees, etc.), middling franchises and lovable losers. Still trying to fine-tune the best way. Would love to hear your tips and tricks.

I have a fictional league that started in 1971 and is currently in 2001 that has a few historical players imported into it, although my league has no financials. This league was originally started with OOTP 6.5 and upgraded through the years. It is the Texas League created by Malleus Dei. I don't think he has posted in many years now. I used his initial settings, ratings turned off and no financials, but I recently turned on ratings and I am going to turn on financials after the current season.
As for the historical players created, they are Walter Johnson aka Johnny Walters, Sandy Koufax (Sandy Hernandez), Ty Cobb (Tyrone Cobblestone) and Babe Ruth (Bambino Gotti - I was watching the John Travolta movie of him playing John Gotti when I imported him and that was the name I came up with). Cobb has definitely been just like himself in real life. Johnson was practically unbeatable for the first 2 years after I traded for him and then became remarkably mediocre. Koufax has been completely awful, but seems to be pitching better this season. Next season should be his first of his 5 dominant seasons according to his age. And then there is Ruth. Ruth freakin broke my League Totals under Stats and AI. Another fictional player came into the league with similar power numbers around the same time and because of these 2, I had to adjust the HR total way down as you can see by Ruth's first full 2 seasons. The record had been 60 HRs set in 1974. Ruth came in and smoked it in 1995. In 1996, 5 players were over 60 with Ruth and Milankovic each over 100, so be careful if you plan on importing Ruth. If you want, I can update on how it goes when switching on financials. I don't know when that will be as I am only in the middle of May in this season.
