Error when attempting to back up game

When I hit "Back up current game" and "Start Backup" I get this message:

"Error during backup function. The backup could not be updated!"

This is my eighth season with this league and I play every game so I really don't want to lose it.

Any thoughts?

For the immediate concern of not losing the game, navigate to your .lg folder and copy it, rename the copy and park it somewhere safe. I assume you have space on your drive.

I have done that. I have not downloaded the latest update. Should I do that?

Take a screenshot of it right before you hit the button that generates that message. Post the screenshot.

It gets to saving "mes/Los Gigantes" or something close to that and then goes to:

Error during backup function. The backup could not be updated!

Possibly a OneDrive issue. Try backing up to a different location.

How do I backup to a different location? And OneDrive has full access to the OOTP26 folder.

I tried that, and could only get to "Public/Documents." It wasn't immediately clear how to create a folder for the league.

In any event, I got the same error message that way. OneDrive was not involved.
