Jim unknown handling. blank rosters. Tournament stat integrity Find a new way for Jim team handling? ..... so stats are not skewed. Probably not an easy one but just noting anyway because improvement would be amazing/just in case something is possible. Tournaments are such a fun part of the game... occasionally it's nice to follow a tournament round by round on day off or get excited about a new variant you've added or a build you spent days constructing.. and you'd like to watch each game and follow each round to see your individual leaders and team stats through the tourney stat lens in-game ..... but it's a total buzz kill because 1,2,3,4,5 blank team jim blowouts destroy the stat landscape for the entire tournament. Obviously new to OOTP/PT players who don't understand the limitations or what Jim is needed for would be turned off by this as well.. when noticing 0-75 games and busted stats. Data guys of course would love it cleaned up as well but the in-game stat noise created by the blowouts takes a big joy out of watching tournaments. Not sure on the how part but can completely blank teams or even less than 20 player teams(especially in modern) be somehow wiped from the tournament? -Make Jim's have higher or average of the field ratings so the games are closer? (will upset few rounds on occasion, stats will still not be honest) -Remove and give opponent bye (opponent is going to have rest advantage anyway with quick series against Jims) -Remove and send back to tourney signup for a few more openings? (everything remains the same as now.. tournament fills, tournament starts, final countdown> IF all rosters full/submitted then start toruney. if not, go back to queue? but then the countdown would have to start again after refilling.) (help the above idea by allowing extra signups ie 135/128, 7 people willing to wait for a chance to see if a team is blank and take their spot... but doesn't help in ptx scenarios unless teams outside qual get a conditional invite.. they can build their rosters but they only run if someone enters a blank) -??? If anyone with more experience/expertise has ideas for the dev team, please share |

Tournament Trust Fund (TTF) idea.
Currencies: PP, CS, Packs, Cards, QualPoints No more data issues or byes or free rest. 1. Create JIM UNKNOWN teams with actual PT cards and reasonable competitive construction. (jim has full card inventory. build = 50% placement of last tourney run or randomly chosen non jim build from current tournment for 1st run or ptx) 2. JIM UNKNOWN teams will now upset on occasion... one round, several rounds, possibly win the whole tournament. 3. JIM UNKNOWN QualPoints are distributed to each team that was defeated with a scaled distribution... OR just award each loser to a Jim, their exit Qualpoints +one round. So if you lose round 4 to a Jim in a 128 man, you get 10qp instead of 6qp 4. JIM UNKNOWN cards awarded to round opponent. If you face a Jim in a card award round, you get both sets of cards win or lose. 5. JIM UNKNOWN pp, cs, packs are inserted in to a TOURNAMENT TRUST FUND which can be detailed on the competitive website. 4. TTF assets over daily/weekly tournaments will be paid out/padded to the PTCS payouts and possibly a house take? PTCS and PTMS and PTWC jim unknowns??? Would have to curate a jim build either by team or community. OR before tourney start, server AI just randomly mirrors one existing non jim build. jim ptx pp/cs/packs would be passed to next ptx. (cards go to round opponent) jim ptwc pp/cs/packs would go to winner. -this helps with the data issues that come from jim unknowns because there will never be another jim unknown. just real pt cards and real builds for a phantom manager -within cycle or refresh you, it could be programmed to just choose the middle team from the last tournament. ie 64th place out of 128. -however since new cycle or refresh, the first tournmanet of a format is not going to have previous tournament to choose a "demo jim" team from it would have to be created either by ootp team, AI or community curated. community curated would be fun but it's commitment, communicatoin and extra steps.. AI would be fine except the team won't be great and will struggle with caps.. so I'd say first Jim team has to be built by ootp team - possibly create a backend that allows ootp team to map/copy from an existing build. most tournaments will have many builds in with lots of time before tourney start. so they can just scan the list for known manager, good looking build > copy/map it and done for the first fire of that tournament. OR first tourney where no previous run exists, server could just randomly mirror one existing non jim team... then choose the 50% from the prev tourney after that -after the first tournament has run, the now it can just be programmed to just choose the middle placing team from the last tournament. ie 64th place out of 128 ================= Easiest or best option likey is the bye - blank rosters(jim teams), the opponent gets bye - mandatory full rosters 26/26 , 20/20 for special tourneys whatever. (i think those are only drafts atm) - any chronic 26/26 intentional bad team actors, report team/ban
