The Brewers got MLB's 30th best prospect. But you can rest assured that when he's great in 3 years we'll trade him away for more prospects. Ah, the joys of being a fan of a farm team.

I have a grudge that it will be the ladder, we know what team we're talking about here

Suarez going back to the Reds: https://www.mlb.com/news/eugenio-suarez-contract-reds

I'm surprised someone else didn't offer him a better deal.

If you saw how the NFL arbitrator "penalized" the owners for collusion, I wouldn't be surprised to see MLB owners to be up to the same tricks.

Pinch-runner Terrance Gore dies at age 34

The Wikipedia mentions "complications from surgery".

One of the more unique careers in recent memory for sure. Far more stolen bases than hits, and he made it onto the lineup card all of 14 times in his career.

Anyone watching the broadcast of game seven of the 1960 World Series on the MLB Network? I would sell my soul to have baseball games announced like that once again. So little useless noise.

I am going to reveal my age. I was in 6th grade at the time of this World Series. I followed MLB some since my friends had their favorite teams so I had to have one also. My best friend liked the Yankees so I liked the White Sox and hated the Yankees. We were in school and game 7 came on about noontime and we tried to talk our teacher into letting us listen to the game. She gave us homework and told us if we were quiet and did the homework, we could listen to the game. That game had so many ups and downs we really struggled to keep quiet but somehow we did keep quiet even though we squirmed a lot. When Maz (RIP) hit that HR we let out a cheer and celebrated. Even the teacher was excited. That day hooked me on to MLB.

I watched it last night. I love to watch old games. I have seen the home run many times but I had never watched the entire game until last night. What a ball game that had a bit of everything in it. I noticed before they mentioned it that not a single batter struck out. Of all the differences between a game in 1960 vs. 2026 the thing I always notice in these older games is that batters came to the plate to hit. The mindset was not to work counts. You didn't need the pitch clock (which I love) to artificially speed the game up. I really like that about the old games. Even up intot he 80's you still saw that same plate approach.

This is where I'm at right now, bummed out losing another good player I'm not thrilled about moving on Caleb Durbin, either.
