Fictional Expansion in a Historical Game?
Hi all - long-time player, first-time poster. I am trying to figure out if what I'm envisioning is possible without compromising too much on realism or doing a good amount of manual work, so I've come to the experts.
I'm trying to start an expansion-centered alt-history jumping off in 1992, with the league up to 32 teams by the end of the decade. I forsee some issues though, mostly with the automated changes and expansion. Of course, having the league automatically update would undo all of my edits to the league in terms of team structure, divisions, etc - so I can accept I'll have to edit ballparks, nickname or ballpark changes, whatever else manually at the MLB level. But my impression is that I have to use historical minors for the most accurate draft classes. Is it correct that the automatic evolution in the minors is tied to the same MLB setting? If I turn off the automatic expansion setting at the MLB level, is that going to mess up the draft classes, since certain teams or leagues players made their debut in won't exist unless I manually import, somehow? Basically - I'd love to have historic minors but semi-fictional majors. Maybe there's a better way to handle this idea. I appreciate anyone's insight! |

This workaround should get you what you want. It might look tricky, but after initial setup involves just a toggle on and toggle off either side of the draft pool reveal each season.
I have used it successfully and it works a treat for this kind of universe. G |
