Live start - people.csv

When attempting to live start in OOTP27, the game seems to freeze when downloading people.csv and won’t respond shortly after. Is this just something that takes an age to download or is it a glitch. I literally can’t start a new game due to this.

It's a big file, it takes time. Not only to download but to parse through all the ids. Just be patient and the game will work through it all. It can take 15-20 minutes or so to set up a live start.

Sorry....That's just not true. When I set up a live start from STEAM on my PC it stops responding at people.csv. When I set up a live start from STEAM on my MacBook Air, it works fine and my league is set up in 3 minutes. There's a bug somewhere that isn't letting Windows STEAM users download the file. It's pretty annoying that I have set up the live start league on my Mac and then export it the league to PC.

I can assure you that we test regularly on Steam/Windows and there's no issues downloading the file there.

It does take a lot longer than 3 minutes though and it will stop responding for several minutes. You really do just need to be a little more patient here and it will work.

EDIT: Just to add a little more info, it typically takes about 10-15 minutes at least the first time you run a live start. It might be a little faster after that but not a ton. It's pretty cool that the MacBook is running in 3 minutes for you, but I would say that's an extraordinarily fast result, so if you're expecting things to go that fast on every system, I can definitely see why it would feel like things are not working for you
