SP Rest
Quick question of the veterans out here.
Do you guys rest your starters throughout the season? I realize some of it will depend on Age and durability, but I'm really just curious how it looks like in long term sims. I play out every game for the most part, and it seems like some of my aging SP's will get exhausted quicker than they used to, i.e. Tarik Skubal, used to be able to go a whole season in the Rotation at the #1 spot and still have gas in the tank. Now he is getting blown up a little earlier in the year and I've noticed he is exhausted quicker, sooner into the year. Only natural, and I get it no argument, so my question is do you guys have an optimal "rest" period you use for your rotations throughout the year? Maybe pull them out of the rotation once every few weeks and give them some "extra" rest, would that keep them fresher? I don't do any quick sims so I don't have a database of info to draw from since thats not really how I enjoy playing, and I only found this game a year ago. Any advice would help. Right now I plan on just pulling guys out every 5 or 6 weeks and letting them get an extra week of rest to see if that helps. Thanks in advance for any info. |

There was a discussion at one point where many people concluded that 100% was the maximum rest. There wasn't a hidden 110% or 120% rested. However I don't recall a developer commenting on the thread.
Pitchers tiring more quickly than in the past may be occurring. Their stamina rating could have decreased. Or the league wide stamina modifier could have decreased. Also note that the rate at which pitchers tire is not directly related to the number of pitches thrown. If a pitcher shows 100% rested let him pitch. |

Update request. So it's only during a game that I can open my Pitchers profile and see that they are say 15% and exhausted after an inning or two, however before I started the game, their "Rest Status" was 100%. Now I'm assuming because I'm into June in this save it's probably because they have been in the rotation and of course are getting tired earlier, but this is kind of my question. The "rest" status during the week is a little misleading if during the game they are going to show up as exhausted after just an inning or two.
So I will ask my original question with an add on. Does pulling a SP out of the rotation for say a week help that status or does it really just not matter? Thanks for any insights, I appreciate it. |

If you have a SP who shows 100% rested on his player profile before the game and is exhausted after pitching one inning then this is a bug. Suggest you have before and after save files and report it in the bugs forum.
Note that whenever a pitcher enters the game his in game rested meter shows 100% even though his profile might show 68%. However the in game meter drops faster for a pitcher who enters with less than 100% showing on his profile. |
