Can anyone think of a reason why I would be experiencing my game slowing down ("memory leak") for the first time in version 27?

I've been playing since OOTP4 and never had an issue with this 'Memory Leak' slowing things down.

Perhaps the game is just laggy/choppy, as I usually don't buy the new version this early

I'm the same, I've never had an issue until this year. From searching on the internet though, it seems like it has been present for a small subset of users in a lot of years - guess we just won the lottery this year.

Unfortunately it's a very difficult issue to pin down due to the vast differences in PCs out there.

I hate that this continues to be an issue. It has plagued me since OOTP20 across multiple PC's.

Makes it really hard to immerse myself in a save when I have to quit and restart every 2-3 games.

When playing the game normally I've not had any problems. The past two days I was editing ballpark textures for ballparks I downloaded. I was changing some graphics for my fictional league. I was using Paint Shop Pro 23. I had OOTP 27 open in the edit 3D stadium section. I would edit a jpg or png image and reload the OBJ file to check the results. Other than that I had Firefox open and Windows 11 Explorer open(multiple windows). Both days my PC bogged down to a crawl after a few hours. Closing the applications did not fix the problem. Task manager did not show any file or process hogging the memory. Restarting Windows was the only solution. I have edited in PSP 23 for hours without issues. The only difference was reloading the OBJ file repeatedly. Maybe this will help the devs.

The game for me is so slow right upon starting it...it can't be due to memory leak when i just started the game. Player pages take a few seconds to load...nothing instantly loads. Very frustrating to play, and this is on a brand new computer

Piling on. The leak keeps freezing my whole computer. The only way to shut down is to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete, which causes me to lose days of games, even though I back up every game day. It usually happens when looking through several pages. I am in the off-season, so I am making trades, signing FAs, and checking my budget. And within those pages, filtering and sorting.

I think I'm giving up

I continue to get Low memory crashes. Sometimes I can get back in right away sometimes my computer completely locks up and I have to restart the computer. I tried a new league where I stripped down as much as I could. Made the 3d settings as low as possible etc. still got another one today. I have been playing the game for about 7 or 8 years and I really love it but the hassle just isn't worth it anymore. This is the last straw in a long line of issues and bugs the last few versions.
