Its just the Avs dominance is other worldly. They have a pt diff of +48. The rest of the West who have positive pt diffs (6 teams) are a combined +43. They are already above 100 goals. No one else has 90. They have given up 55. Next lowest is the Pens 63.

Most of that 2nd period, Carolina looked like they were playing a faster version of themselves.

Texted a friend mid game. If the Canes are fortunate to win this thing, it will be in 7 games. My heart attack should come around game 4 or 5.

Couple of good close games so far, can see this going the full 7 games.

Canes are 8-0 in playoffs when Stankoven scores.

Marner just keeps on producing for the Golden Knights.

This is an excellent series with some outstanding play from both teams.

What I don't like about sports media is they are always trying to pinpoint the "mistake" to blame.

After game 1, sports talk around here focused on mistakes & giveaways by the Canes. Ok, Canes could have done better. But I saw it more as the Knights forcing the Canes into mistakes. Making them uncomfortable & forcing hurried decisions. Carolina could clean things up, but give Vegas credit.

After last night, the narrative is that Vegas blew it. Particularly Andersen for not getting the puck when Stankoven got the Canes 1st tally. Give credit to Stank. The guy fought like a honey badger for that puck & got it on net by sheer will. That, the rally the Canes got just before that goal, & Carrier fighting off 2 Knights to get the puck to Jankowski for the tying goal, those were hustle heart plays by Carolina that got them going. Give the Canes credit.

So far, these are 2 squads fighting tooth & nail for every scrap of ice they can get. Enjoy the guys making plays. We don't have to find a scapegoat every game.

I think Carolina is fortunate that they are going against Hart in goal. I think both teams have the same "problem". Good goalies, but not great goalies. Canes problem in the past has been meeting a goalie who erased his team's mistakes while Freddie Anderssen wasn't that type of netminder to stand on his head & steal a win for his team. I hope I don't eat my words, but I don't think the goalies are going to be the reason their team wins.

That's without a doubt been the biggest turn off for me when it comes to viewing/following sports. The amount of analysts that micro analyze every play and break it down into "why this happened and then find somewhere to point the blame".

I'm with you 100% - what's wrong with giving credit where credit's due?

Sometimes they just sound like a sore loser fan who can't admit they lost because the other team played better.

The tradition of the fans throwing their hats onto the ice when a player scores a Hat Trick has to be one of the coolest traditions in all of sports.

Again, I'm thinking about all those fans who said the Stanley Cup would not be worth watching.
