Pitching setup

I always use strict order but wonder if it would be better to set it to highest rested. How do others set their rotation and di you set 4 or 5 pitchers.

I think

From the pitching usages I see in the PeL World series, that most use a 5-man with highest rested. They will usually have one or two guys with 33-34 starts, and that's what you get with that setup.

And of course everybody goes to a 4-man rotation in the playoffs with the off-days. There is a lot of ballpark-specific matching going on, too, at the upper level leagues.

yeah i mean: you want your best starters to pitch more. strict only makes sense if you have 5 starters with the exact same ability.

Have seen a few successful 3 man setups. still wondering what the hack is.
Strict seems stupid, just because performance isn't well correlated with OVR.

I saw several good PT's during Sixties Week who ran 3-mans. I think the adjusted rules made it possible (I still could not tell how that week required any adjustments).

I now have start highest rested and I see the rotation jumping around and missing starters when I look the starter was still only 60 per cent so I was hurting my rotation by playing strict rotation, I have Whitey Ford, Greg Maddux, Pedro Martinez, Carl Hubbell and Lefty Grove and won 3 Cy youngs in 12 seasons they shoulds do a lot better now. So thank you everyone..

Your older YouTube on tiredness/rested still hurts my brain. I've seen teams limited to 18 pitch counts. The drop off in performance when pitchers tire isn't transparent, especially with PT tendency to throw in 120-25 pitch counts in some starters.

That's batters faced, not pitch counts.

There's a 3rd time through the order penalty, so that's trying to resist that, though there's the risk of wearing your pen out more

Less of a problem when half your pen are failed starters.
