The USBL for OOTP 27 Quickstart

Here is the quickstart: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15xk...ew?usp=sharing
Here is a document tracking each year of the league as I simulated: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

The United States Baseball League is a concept by Daniel Saline, first posted on SportsLogos.net in 2015: https://boards.sportslogos.net/topic...s-posted-2424/

Brand identities were translated into OOTP by golem64, drmwrpt, and luckymann. Ballparks were created by eriqjaffe, and Joelman111’s improved park factor calculator has been used for all of them. Also used in this quickstart is the graphical work of those who completed silvam's stock kits project a few years ago.

This is the fourth time I've completed a quickstart using this concept, dating back to OOTP 24. I love its balance of cities and the graphics available for it, made by this excellent community. I have stayed faithful to the original concept in some ways, but have also taken some liberties to make it fit better with OOTP's league creation mechanics.

You will enter the world during the 2015 offseason, when four new franchises are set to join. The Baseball World Cup (logo thanks to 20_range) will take place in March of 2016. Feel free to add countries to that tournament for the 2020 or 2024 edition; I think there will be more int'l talent with the four additional major league clubs.

USBL Abbreviated History

Original Six 1930-1947

The Original Six Era established the foundation of the USBL through dynasties, rivalries, and growing league identity. Boston emerged as the first dominant franchise, winning multiple championships behind stars like Stewie Beaver and Owen Williamson, while Pittsburgh, New York, and Chicago gradually rose to challenge them.

Although standout players emerged, the league lacked a singular superstar. Instead, success was driven by strong organizations and elite pitching staffs. By 1947, the USBL had survived its early growing pains, including Omaha's collapse, and developed a competitive core of franchises that would shape the league's future.

Expansion Era 1948-1987

The Expansion Era transformed the USBL from a regional league into a national one. New franchises such as Colorado, California, Seattle, Arizona, and Indiana expanded the league's footprint, while divisions, postseason play, the All-Star Game, and free agency modernized the sport.

The era was initially defined by the Boston-Pittsburgh rivalry, but eventually belonged to the league's first true superstar, Mike Sayles, whose dominance elevated both Texas and the USBL. By the 1980s, expansion clubs were regularly competing for championships, creating a deeper and more balanced league than ever before.

The Golden Age 1987-2015

The Golden Age featured unprecedented parity and some of the greatest talent in league history. Unlike previous eras, championships were spread across numerous franchises, with contenders emerging from every corner of the league.

Stars such as Yenderson Arevalos, Kevin Bonner, Chaz Soler, and Alonzo Hernandez rewrote the record books, while expansion clubs matured into perennial contenders. By 2015, the USBL had reached its peak as a national league defined by competitive balance, legendary careers, and a constant flow of new championship contenders.

Here are three options for your save:

The Longest Drought: Chicago Wind Sox
One of the league's Original Six franchises, Chicago has won only three titles. The Wind Sox haven't won their division since 1969 and haven't won a Branson Cup title since 1966. They've just completed a 68-92 season, can you rewrite the record books?

The Franchise at a Crossroads: Arizona Sidewinders
The Snakes have been mediocre for a while; never truly awful for that long but never able to take the leap. After a 71-win season, you have some players that could either stick around for the next window, or be traded as you look for the future. What's your direction?

The Expansion Franchise: Four options
St. Paul, San Antonio, Brooklyn and Philadelphia are set to to enter the league. What club will you shape in your image?

I hope you enjoy this quickstart, and thank you for all the support for it. Never say never, but this is the definitive version of the quickstart that I've create. Now it's time to actually play!

I must be a idiot, it's telling me "could not load world file". And when I try to load the game it says the database is either invalid or corrupt.

I just downloaded it and put it in Quickstart_games folder on my MAC. The started a new Quickstart game and selected USBL 27.quick. It took a while to create but it worked on my OOTP27.

Pretty sure it was user error. Honestly, quickly after I posted this I decided I'd rather make my own universe and started my own USBL from scratch. But when I looked into it more i had a folder inside a folder form unzipping it and assuming that was the issue.
