I like yours better. Should have thought of that. Done it before with eyes so ears should work as well.

I have been unable to locate a player on the 24 Yankees, who has an available image from 1924, that has not already been colorized with the Yankees. So the next option was to resort to a player colorized from a different year. The best of these options appeared to be Mike McNally who only appears to have been colorized from 1921 wearing a cap with a white background.

A little more experimentation. Ran the last one through Aurora HDR and found that (in my eyes) it improves the result...apart from a bit of greenish tinge around the adams apple.
