Good! I hope they keep somehow clambering over the Gwinnett Barves.

Pete to DL. Wrist, paw, whatever. It's not funny anymore.

Mets are not answering the Raccoons' call. We offer Art Goetz, Steve Nickas, and Van Anderson for a baseball signed by Jake.

(Those are all AAA duds, but it's not like the Mets have anything else left...)

Peraza out with "right shin contusion". Yeah, they're gonna saw that hoof off, too...

Wilfredo Tovar playing for the Mets again after getting 18 at-bats in 2013-14 as a wildly underdone 21-year-old.

Edit: he can't believe it all, either.

I prefer the "New York Johneshwys"

But can we please stop getting thrown out at home plate? That includes rookies with impossible names that bid for inside-the-parkers just as much as for the big lumbering beasts like Dom and Nido.

Yamamoto, as designated turd of the day, pitches like a turd. It's the second inning and the game is already lost.

Until at least a handful of regulars returns from the DL, this team is ******* hopeless.

This is still true. (Although the NL East is nothing to be proud about right now.)

And the New York Mets shall be relegated to the International League to join their Syracuse affiliate in shame and humiliation forever and ever! The End.

From what I heard, at least one of the games had this guy making his debut; Anthony Recker, a.k.a. Best Bum on Team:

Congrats to Johneshwy Fargas on his wrecked shoulder, you're a real Met now kid!

I still want to know why the fences are made out of reinforced concrete wrapped in tissue paper.

Mets Manager Luis Rojas filling out the lineup card:

"Okay, are you hitting above .000?"

"No."

"Have you had a hit in the major leagues before?"

"Uh, yeah."

"You're batting third."

The Wilpons had that thing made so that the completely inept medical staff would have an easier time spotting injuries needing perhaps attention.

God, what was the name of the guy around 2015 that always had the concerned look and the white towel in his hand, and couldn't have saved a six-year-old with a bloody knee?

I have forgotten his name... The mere mention of his name made Mets fans shiver.

Hey guys, good news! The Mets called and I'm gonna make my debut tonight! I'll play third base. I've never played third base in my life. I will bat fifth in the lineup!

I also have general Pablo Sandoval shape and I throw like a girl and I'll **** my pants the first time a 96mph fastball will come at me and scream and run away, but I was assured that it will all be fine by a guy with a concerned look and a white towel in his hand on the Zoom call.

It was reasonable to wonder, following the Mets’ 3-2 loss to the Rockies on Monday, if Tim Tebow might have cracked the Majors by now had he not retired from baseball to play tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Mets have entered such dire straits that as they began a seven-game homestand at Citi Field, they asked catcher James McCann to man first base for the first time in his career. Later, following yet another injury, the Mets moved onto their fifth-string center fielder.

“Anybody want to suit up?” owner Steve Cohen mused on Twitter during the later innings of the Mets’ seventh loss in 10 games.

You can replace Pillar with any decent triple A player. Hell.. any decent DOUBLE A player.

I just checked his numbers..lifetime OBP of .298. For an outfielder.

Over his nine years in MLB, he's averaged 9 bombs and ... wait for it ... 39 RBI.

His "best" year, in 2019, he had 645 plate appearances, and ... also wait for it ... 18 walks.

For these Mets, that level of production is irreplacable.

Indeed, I'm just happy to have anyone who's played a full season in the field at this point.

I mean Almora and Maybin have a combined .025 average this year. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a average that low (granted it's two players combined). 1-40!

Bartolo Colon batted .083 as a Met.

This is not the first time in the last decade where I've looked at the Mets lineup and just wished for more than 1-2 slots in the lineup where we had minimal competence.
