Simmed 14 seasons complete, then started on year 15.

Made it to June 15 (Draft)...

Error message appears: add_line_to_txt_file - could not open target file for writing

Game crashes at this point, over and out...

hmm great, but I see nothing anywhere that talks about this #1610... (like, where is the acknowlegement from SI for example), are they fixing it? nothing is mentioned at the top of this thread about it being on the 1st patch list and that isn't good.

this bug is a career/game killer and renders OOTP useless until fixed since it crashes everytime after 10+ years of a career are simmed.

#1610 is the number that represents a bug logged in a bug tracking system used by the developers and testers. Larry has access to this bug tracking system and logged it for you. Markus will be able to make better use of his time by utilizing this tracking system to see what issues need attention rather than spending time here on the boards going though the feedback. Rest assured, this will be given attention by the man.

Thank you for the reply... apologies, now I understand how the log system works!

Just to provide a few details hopefully to help get this solved:

1) This was not a one-off... it has crashed for 6 consecutive universe/career/fictional player setups. All after 10 years simmed.
2) Once it occurs you have no choice but to completely start over from scratch, there is no getting past the June 15 Draft (re-starting the game does no good for example)... the crash occurs when the major league draft runs, not the winter leagues or other leagues that are drafting on the same day. The Draft gets to 30%-40% and then boom.
3) All crashes occurred while in the sim/watching mode as opposed to the GM mode.
4) I will keep the last league in the folder just in case you want it for testing or whatever, it is saved up to June 14 of the 12th (or so) season.
5) The Rule 5 Draft is disabled as it has not worked since day/league #1, all other options are enabled.
6) After the error message displays and after you click it off, IE message appears stating system must close, if it is useful I can copy all the details it lays out in there.

I reported this same issue days ago, yet it has never been acknowledged. I bumped it several times, as per the instructions of this boards's sticky, above. Yet, nothing.

I know the site's been overwhelmed with bugs and reports, but all it would take is a word or two to say, you know, "Thanks for the reponse." (That's 4)

It can make someone a bit peeved if some reports of bugs are responded to, and others are seemingly ignored.

Apologies, as you have appreciated, there is a large post count here per day and we are working as best as we can. This issue was thankfully reported by a few people so it's not a major problem.

It seems my game is now crashing every 10 minutes, it doesn't really matter what I am doing....

Its not every 10 min for me but Im in the same boat with many crashes on different screens. Hard to write a bug report except to say it crashes all the time.

It is hard to imagine that a few hours before the 1st patch is to released this (these) problems are being ignored/skipped over in the current fix/patch list...

1) Draft crash as per post above
2) Rule 5 simply has never worked as mentioned many times by different posters

These are fatal errors when trying to sim a career. Although cosmetic problems are important to fix it would seem fatal errors would be #1 on any patch fix list.
