Crash when Importing Historical Players

1. Created an 1890 fictional league.
2. Imported Chief Zimmer (1890).
3. Hit the continue button.
4. Game crashed.

That's a thought. I was using the old Garlon database. Let's see what happens to the new one and to Lahman. Thanks for the idea.

Nope. Crash occurs on all databases. I can bring the player in, but can't advance the game after that.

Swampy, Does this happen if you import a player from a year 1901 and up?

It could have something to do with the way the years are recorded in the database for the 19th century. Rather than 1/1/01 they are in like 1899-01-01.

I'm thinking that it's similar to why the game won't initially let you import a league before 1901.

I also hope it gets fixed!

I just used the fictional quickstart and imported 2006 Phil Nevin. Same thing happened. The player imports, but the game crashes when I hit continue.

same here. i imported Pete Rose ID- rosepe01 and it places him in FA. I offer him a contract and crash! (lahman53) master file

ie. C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\lahman53\master

Historical league btw. I didn't have the path right for 1963 so i am trying to bring him in at the start of '64

ok so after an hour i got it to take. Problems i found. I imported Rose from the lahmans50 folder instead of lahmans53 and used the master file. Once he was in he was sent to FA as a 0 year old player. I had to go to the editor and give him a birthday, and 1 year= 172 days of player service for the 40 man. I assigned him a league ( the current one he's in obviously) because it was shown as none which could have been another problem, and a team, the Cincinnati Reds, then hit action and player profile to make sure it would take. Lo and behold under "contract & status" it shows his service time and on my roster he's on my reserve list. Fingers crossed now that it holds. So far so good after a few sims

Just a quick update. I'm at the All star break and Rose made rookie of the month once ( he was called up in May), and is hitting a nice .330. Oh yeah he made the All star team at 2B
