Bug: Fiction league/minors schedule error

I set up a league (16 teams, only one level of minors, opening day scheduled for the Saturday nearest April 15, the AAA set to open the Saturday nearest April 21, standard roster and financial rules). When the league was created, it set the minors date back to the default (April 6) thus forcing the minors to try to start while the parents teams were still in Spring Training, which obviously results in an empty roster error.

I was able to reproduce this a second time with a similar league set-up.

When you set the options did you turn off the option to "Auto-adjust date if matching XML schedule found" (or whatever it says exactly)? If you leave that option on then the schedule will use the starting date information from the file, so if you want to use something different you set yourself you need to deactivate the option.

Hmm, that might be it. However, why would it let my main league start on my chosen date, but not my AAA league?

Depending on your settings, it may be that your major league is finding a suitable schedule file to use while your minor leagues have to have their schedules generated from scratch. Also, is this a historical league or a fictional league?
