Issues

Some issues I have noticed.

1. My first game crashed (see #2 below for probably cause) and then was rendered unable to continue because AI rosters did not have enough players. I see in the patch notes that is being addressed. Will it fix a game in which it's already a problem? Is there any workaround until the patch comes out.

2. Leak. I can play about a month at a time before the game becomes intolerably slow and unstable. Just opening menus takes an eternity by month's end. And the game will crash soon thereafter. I can workaround now by shutting down every 3-4 weeks and restarting the game. But presumably there's a leak in there causing the game performance to degrade over time. Let me know if there's any info I can provide you that would be useful.

3. RBI on an error. I am not saving game logs or I'd send that to you, but with a man on first Player A gets a single and then a throwing error at 3rd sends the runner home. Player A is awarded an RBI despite the fact that the error caused the run. I think that's incorrect.

4. Phantom player. Managing a game myself, periodically a phantom player named "Davis" (who plays for neither team) make a catch in the outfield. Once again, I am not saving logs or I'd show you.

5. Pitches thrown. Where is this info available in the game screen? If I am going to set a pitch limit for my pitchers, it'd be nice to see that number somewhere in the game simulation screens. I may just be missing it.

6. Spring training. I would like to evaluate people in spring training, but it's not easy (if it's even possible) to see their stats for spring training games. Am I missing something, or is this missing from the game?

Thanks, hope some of this helps.

First, I see this was your first post. Welcome to the forums.

There is a chance the patch could help a game that's had this problem but I would say it's unlikely. In the past with patches it's been a sometimes it did/sometimes it didn't situation. So no promises can be made just yet.

Could you please post your machine's specs? If we had an idea of your memory size, processor, etc. it could help us determine if it's more hardware than software & try to help you with it.

It could be an error...it might not be an error. The throwing error at third...what was happening when the error occurred? Where was the 3B throwing at the time?

That's addressed in the patch.

Yes, it could be a good feature to have that in the game screen. For now, you can find the pitch count by looking at the in-game box score. (It's toward the very bottom of the box score.)

That I'm not sure and I don't have a game near S.T. to find out right now...hopefully one of the other guys can jump in here with an assist.

MS Windows XP Home, 2002, SP2
Pentium 4
2.4GHz
512MB RAM

Let me know if there's anything else that would help.

The RF threw the ball past the 3B while Player A was coming into 3rd, allowing him to make it home when the ball got away.

The other issue I forgot to note is that it seems like I am the only person signing Free Agents prior to Spring Training when the game starts (no inagural draft). So I am able to snap up quite a few players with no competition from other teams. And even with a limited budget have a fairly killer roster. Nice if you want to win, but not much challenge.

This is really a shame. I have to stop playing this game until the patch comes out because it bit me again and so I realize am running the risk by even playing the game that I am starting something I can never finish.

The SION Brodcast page, Bottom left pane has a show pitchers link, clicking that has the pitch count.

Spring Training stats can be viewed by selecting spring training from the first split drop down on the roster screen. Its the one that lets you view stats by month, count, ect.

Thanks for the info on finding those stats.

Unfortunately, that stuff is minor compared to the game leaking to death after a month of game time and then, after the resulting crash, having the AI rosters (potentially) irretrievably FUBAR so the game can't be continued and I have to start over. I'll try again after the patch until then, this game is on the DL.

I'm sure they will get it right in the end...

Memory Leak is testing, and ongoing. This issue will be moved to open status in TS.

I believe all of these issues have been closed, or listed as claimed fixed for the next patch release, so I'm moving this over to Claimed Fixed.

Thanks!
