starting pitching mess up
Hey guys,
I started a fictional league and every single time a game is simulated the starting pitcher pitch only 4 innings. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks |

Is it spring training? I've seen that happen in ST games but once the regular season starts, that should go away.

It's regular season. I simmed opening day and noticed all of the starting pitchers threw 4 innings. I simmed day 2 after tampering with everyone's endurance ratings to see if that would work. Even made them have full endurance...still 4 innings.

Is it possible that "Pinch hit for pitcher" is set to Very High? I wonder if any of the global 'era' settings might have something to do with this. I haven't gotten to the regular season yet, so I haven't run into this yet.

I'll give that a shot and let you know how it works out, Calvin. I believe it is set on high. I'll change it right now since I have some time to play the game for a bit.
Edit - Looks like everyone is still pitching 4 innings. I had a fluke incident where one of my guys went a full 9, but every single game after all of the pitcher are still going 4 innings. I simmed 3 days and checked all teams games. Interestingly my starting pitchers are still getting wins even though they are going 4 and not 5 Last edited by BBALLisLFE; 06-05-2006 at 03:39 PM. |

I don't see this too frequently but I just played a game where the opposition pinch hit for their pitcher in the bottom of the 3rd. Granted, they trailed 4-0 but most teams don't eat up their bullpens in this manner (by pinch hitting so early).
I did change the league settings to 1) pinch hit for pitcher=normal and 2) pitcher endurance=normal. It does appear that some tweaking may be needed in these areas. |

I just ran into another problem:
I'm the manager for my team, right? It won't allow me to make lineups. Every time I try to put someone in it does absolutely nothing. I'm getting fed up with all the little bugs that make it so difficult to play. I think they put too much time into trying to impress everyone with boundless options instead of making a solid game. When does the patch come out? I hope it fixes all of these little things that cause the gameplay to stop. Edit - figured out the lineup problem. When I'm putting in my lineups for RHP + DH it does me the favor of creating my lineups for LHP. That's even more interesting. Now I just need to figure out how to make my lineup for RHP + DH. The whole thing is screwy. A couple of them don't match up. Last edited by BBALLisLFE; 06-05-2006 at 04:03 PM. |

I just put pinch hit for pitcher = normal, pitcher endurance = high...same result.
I just want this and the lineup thing fixed so I can sim my league. It's fictional so I have no clue who the good players are. I want to sim 5 years and get realistic stats so I can see who the best ones are before really getting into it. |

Hallelujah! I reloaded the league and the pitching changes took place. Whew!
Now I just need to figure out the lineup thing. I want to say it's backwards, but it's not, really. I don't get it. |
