CPU Team Offers Trade After Trading Deadline

I thought this was a little weird. New York offered me a trade after the trading deadline had passed.

Screenies.

Not sure that is a bug. Happens in 6.5 all the time.

I wasnt aware of that (didnt own 6.5), but I dont think that it should happen. Teams should not offer you trade offers after the trade deadline.

Yeah they should. The "trade deadline" is the non-waiver deadline. After that deadline, any players included in the trade must pass through waivers.

Does the game know this though? I've yet to see evidence that it knows what waivers are.

Mike Stanton was traded I think from the Nationals to Boston on 9/27 last year in real life. If the players pass through waivers, they can be traded.

Yes, I accept a trade after the deadline and there was a message that the players need to clear waivers to process the trade. After one day, the trade was cancel because one player was claim.

Yep, I had this happen a couple times as well. Seems to be working properly.

This worked in OOTP 6.5 also - I got a "blockbuster" offer from the computer (Jim Palmer for Steve Carlton or something) in mid-August. I went ahead and accepted, knowing full well that neither player would clear waivers, just to see how it got handled. And sure enough, the next day I got an e-mail saying the trade was cancelled.

Glad to hear this still works in this version.
