fielding position ratings weirdness

I'm not sure what's going on here. There's a player in my solo league who is a very very good hitter and when I was playing out the World Series, I noticed he was never on the starting lineup and only brought in as a pinch hitter. So I looked into it a bit further, and, based on his offensive ratings there was no question that he should be starting vs. both RHP and LHP. He was both healthy and well rested as well.

The problem seems to be his fielding position ratings. They are all shown as "-". Now I know that at some point he was at least a decent RF because he won a gold glove there two years prior. Right now his outfield range/error/arm are 3/5/2 (on a 1-10 scale). Also, according to the "Editor", his experience at LF and RF are both 200, the max, but his "Result Rating" at both positions shows up as "---".

I admit I don't fully understand how the result rating is calculated, but it seems to me he should have something above zero at those two positions, no?

Also, I've tried editing his experience and his other outfield ratings, and I can't seem to get it to give him any rating at any position.

I should also mention that I'm playing with scouting disabled, so I'm assuming it's "what you see is what you get".

Okay, just played with it some more, and now I'm not sure wether this is a bug or a feature. His outfield R/E/A ratings on the 1-250 scale are 43/86/34. It seems that if any one of those dips below 40, all the "Result Ratings" go to "---". So now I'm thinking one of the injuries he had during the latest season (he had a few lol) must've knocked his arm rating below 40 and blanked out his ratings. I guess the question is, is this how it's supposed to work?
