So slow...

I downloaded avsfan's new rosters and boy is the game slow now. It takes 3-4 seconds to switch pages, even tabs! I have a middle of the line laptop that's always run everything fine.

It shouldn't take 5 minutes to load a quickstart.
It shouldn't take 15 minutes to delete a league.
It shouldn't take a few seconds to switch pages.

My favorite game of all time is Eastside Hockey Manager 2k5 and it runs great on my laptop, even with custom logos, photopacks, full leagues across about 10 countries. No problems. Quick as a lick. Loading a league is instantaneous, deleting is instantaneous. Why isn't OOTP? Anyone else having similar issues? I really want to love this game.

I don't know much about this roster set... but is it like lahman in csv format or an import of a 6.5 league? Do you experience this slowdown when you create a brand new 2006 league?

Well, You can speed up deleting a league by doing it outside of the game in windows.

Also empty the trash bin regulary too. When you go through 4 lg files a night, Windows gets cranky.

Another thing you can try is saving the game. Mine slowed down considerably while moving some players around to different teams and I was going to save and close the game before restarting. After closing, I noticed that my memory and CPU usage dropped considerably.
