Scouts/coaches off still costing?

I imported an online league form 6.5 and de-selected Complete Coaching Staff and Complete Scouting Staff before I hit Start Game.

The problem is when I go to the Front Office page, every team still has some form of staff payroll (2-3MIL). When I go to Personnel, there is no one listed. When I go to team Home and click Personnel in Links Menu, a full staff is listed with their payrolls.

I am just playing the demo, but I notice if I have coaches/scouts off, there is still a line item on the budget page for staff expenses. If I look at the report, there are coaches and scouts making money for all the teams.

I don't want to have to go through every team and fire them all...

Here's an example. Orioles personnel. I have turned coaches/scouts off and every team has the full amount, pulling revenue away as you can see on the financial report.

I have them turned off and they still show up and are on the payroll. Is this a bug? I know to know if it is cause I cant continue my online league with this problem. If it is is there a work around cause I dont want to have to wait til July for the next patch.

Pretty sure that is a recorded bug.

I agree, if scouts and coaches are turned off, there should be no staff expenses. I have logged this as TT# 1972 for Markus to look at.

I disagree with that (and I have a feeling Markus will, too, since this seems like a conscious design decision to me). You're turning off the scouting and coaching systems, not the scouts and coaches.

This is referencing a league created with the latest 1.02 beta patch.

Now it's pretty clear that the game keeps files on a whole universe worth of coaches and scouts even when coaches and scouts are turned off. The Database Info screen shows them, they get paid by their teams, etc. Still, if the intent is to hide them a bit more fully, the Available Personnel tab should be removed from the Transactions page. There is no need to see unused coaches and scouts that can't be hired and that can't be used anyway.

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but the larger issue here is that data is kept for unused coaches and scouts to begin with. I mean, I guess that it allows you to switch coaches and scouts on and off at will, but if you know that you don't want them ever, that's a whole bunch of data being stored and loaded for no reason.

Markus has claimed this is fixed in the next patch release. We have not had an opportunity to verify it yet, however.

I'm fairly certain that Markus means that he has removed the personnel from the expenses if they are turned off. But I am confirming with him.

This issue has been fixed, and verified.

The decision (sorry Zeyes), was that if you turn off the scouting and coaching model, then these will not factor into finances at all.

So, for this version at least, you cannot have scouts and coaches on your payroll without running with the scouting and coaching models turned on.

If you feel strongly that this is problematic, please post a new thread in the suggestions forum.

Moving this to Closed/Claimed Fixed.
