Lockup causes table to not load???

I would like to explain this in all detail with the individual erros right now but my computer won't start due to a fan issue (I hope). Anyways, computer froze while playing (probably due to heat, my house has no insulation so the room temp will hit 85+) and when I reloaded the game everything seems to work just fine, except for the Player Search & Shortlist. I errors like its trying to load the table with players but something is wrong. Undefined columns and such. I will post detailed errors and email the file if neccessary later.

It sounds like the crash corrupted something in the game. Have you tried uninstalling and reloading?

No because I can make do without. It hasn't affected any other part of the game, just the Player Search & Shortlist screen. I might try that today if the simple purchase of a fan will help my computer start.

Uninstall, reinstall didn't fix it. Here's the errors.

TABLE_VIEW::get_from_data_device -invalid number of columns
TABLE::create_grid - invalid number of display columns
TABLE::refresh_grid - invalid grid

Is there a way to get around this?

Faroo,

Sorry to hear about this, and sorry about the delay in answering.

The first thing I would try is changing skins. Change your skin, quit the game, and reload, and see if that helps at all.

Meanwhile, let me know if this is still an issue for you. I know it's been a while.

Thanks very much,

Steve

This means that some data is missing and the saved game file is corrupt. When your pc froze, the game was in the middle of creating that data and the operation was not completed before the pc went down.

I'm willing to bet that if you start a fresh game, there will be no issue...as long as your computer can handle the heat in your uninsulated house.

Well i finally did figure this one out. If you have windows remove the game it doesn't remove some the the stuff in the SI folder. Removing the game, deleting the entire folder and then reinstalling fixed it just fine and I am currently enjoying a historical league as commish in 1998. Coincidently I've had to play it a couple times over because of a crash without a save, but the first year McGwire hit 70 right on the nose. Kinda eeire. Schmidt also was traded to the Giants.

The second go round Griff hit 61 and 62 on the last two days of the season.

Never really have to worry about me sticking with the game. I will always try to rationalize anything screwy that happens. After all this is a make believe world.
