Changes for Historical ERA Settings over time...
Does anybody have the changes that should be made for the historical era settings over time? Unfortunately these don't adjust as the league continues over time so I guess we have to do it manually.
The settings are Use of Relievers Use of Closers Pitcher Endurance Typical Rotation Size Pinch Hit for Pitchers Pinch Hit for Position Players Defensive Substitutions Stealing Hit & Run Bunting |

I went back to 6.5 and took the settings from there. Don't know of another way to do it.

I got these from importing seasons from the AROD database starting in 1901 and checking for when it changes the era settings.
Years, Relievers, Closers, Endurance, Rotation, PH/Pitchers, PH/Position Players, Defensive Subs, Stealing Bases, Hit & Run, Bunting 1901-18, VR, VR, High, 4-man, VR, R, N, VO, VO, VO 1919-40, VR, VR, Normal, 4-man, VR, R, N, N, O, O 1941-59, R, VR, Normal, 4-man, R, R, N, N, O, O 1960-73, N, R, Normal, 4-man, R, R, N, N, N, N 1974-91, O, VO, Normal, 5-man, O, R, N, O, N, R 1992-05, VO, VO, Low, 5-man, VO, R, N, N, R, VR VR - Very Rarely R - Rarely N - Normal O - Often VO - Very Often I don't know how historically accurate these necessarily are, but maybe it'll help. |

1901-02 should probably feature 3-man rotations. Once the schedule was expanded to 154 games, that seems to be about the time that managers began to utilize the 4th pitcher. Also, I'd lower the one-run strategies (stealing, hit and runs, and sacrifices) to "normal" by the mid-20s, raise them back to "often" during the war years, and then dip hit and run and steals to "very rarely" from 1946 to around 1959 or 1960. The game of the 40s and the 50s was very station to station.

Don't know if anyone else has seen this, but it has made me reluctant to use "Very Often" settings. |

I agree with the inflated stolen base numbers they are too high with the very often settings.
As for the 3-man rotation I think if you have the 3 man rotation set it pretty much will use the highest rested starter cuz the guys just never recover enough... then again I haven't tested this too much. |

Using a 3-man rotation, I had players with 55+ starts.
