Heh, I'm not sure if my game was even patched....

I downloaded the patch and installed it (this was the first day the patch was released). On the OOTP Main Screen the bottom left hand quarter reads;
1.0.0.12231

I even used the "check for updates" option and it says that I am updated but here is my problem(s).

I am still seeing things in the game that were supposed to be fixed with the patch. AND I am NOT seeing features/options that were added by the patch such as "option to close news ticker in game preferences".
It appears that the patch was not installed or not installed correctly. After I noticed this I uninstalled and then reinstalled the patch twice but I still get the same issues. The only thing that works differently is that the pearl skin is fast.

Is that what it's supposed to read? Or is there something wrong here? Also, how do you turn off the news ticker at the bottom? I do not see it anywhere because like I said, it appears that my game wasn't patch. Well, it appears like that sometimes.

heh, something is wrong then. Something isn't right. Even when I click on the "check for updates" it says that I'm OK or I'm already updated.

Kyros, do this:

1. uninstall the game
2. Download a fresh copy here: http://www.ootpbaseball2006.com/down...=download&id=1
3. Install it.

It should say 1.0.1.12242 when you start up...

Did you apply the patch in the same directory that you installed the game?

yes. I mean, the patch was on my desktop but when I installed it - it did install to the correct dictionary. But remember, when I clicked the "check for updates" option the site told me I was up to date and this was as of yesterday. So it appears that this feature is not working. Thanks.

This may seem obvious, but was OOTP open when you applied the patch?

Someone else had this issue and when he checked the date on the files, they had not changed. Could be a permissions problem that didn't allow the new files to overwrite the old.

No. I even restarted the PC after the install was complete.

I have to leave for a bit and when I get back I'll uninstall the game, restart PC, reinstall, restart PC and then hopefully it will check out. I'll let you guys know tonight.

You know, I was wondering something. I was wondering if this has happend to alot of people because I did install it correctly. Maybe a lot of people think they are patched but really aren't thus the bugs and AI problems that Markus fixed still occur. I would find out if I were Marc & Markus. It's a shot in the dark but it may have happend.
