Different Problem
Different problem, but in the same category of contract extensions.
I'm over-budget but have been able to load up on cash. I'm currently sitting on a pile of money (120M!) and want to extend a contract for one of my players who's eligible for arbitration. My owner is saying there's no money. This of course is bull - we're 40M over now and this guy is gonna get arbitration anyway, and we've got a boatload of cash to use. In theory, I should at least be able to offer him a hair below his estimated arbitration haul for next year.

generally players want more than what arbitration will yield. And are you sure you are not looking at balance? Player budget isn't under balance, its under contract signings. I have also noticed another weird bug though, i went to extend a guys contract, and it appearted to effect my avalibly salary for the following year (not started yet). This was right when FA's became signable so my budget was messed until he rejected it, for the same reason i have posted this topic.

bgheadjack,
I know it's been some time since you posted that, but are you still seeing the same issue? Is there any way you could post a screen shot of your front office when this problem is occurring? Thanks, Steve |

We have a new rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.
This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this. If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!) Steve |
