Overall Ratings Not Available in Commish Mode

Thanks, but please make it so that you can see the overall ratings when not playing as a GM. Some people like myself don't like to play as a GM, but if you don't then you can't see these overall ratings. We're pretty much forced to play as a GM with OOTP2006. For example, we'll have to be playing as a GM to see and sort by the overall ratings. You can't see them playing as a commissioner. Same thing if we want to see a particular scout's ratings of a player. Some of us want the AI to be controlling the teams, but we want to see everything and do anything. If Markus doesn't want to do it because he doesn't see commissioners being able to see scouts' ratings as being realistic, then please create a Diety mode where we can see everything and do anything. You know, the whole omniscient, omnipotent thing.

You could probably let the overall ratings be shown to people playing in commissioner mode by just having them show up when using SISA's eyes. SISA's ratings are usually so way off that they're pretty much worthless, but at least it would be something. Ultimately though, I'd really like to play in a mode where I can see and do absolutely everything whenever I want, but let the AI run everything when not interfering. Commissioner mode, as it is now, just doesn't allow you to do that.

Correct. There does appear to be some value in enabling scouts in 2006, besides giving foggy ratings, so I'd rather not have to disable them. It would be nice to have a mode where we can see any scout's rating of any player and do anything a GM can do without having to fire and takeover for the existing GM, but at the very least I don't see why we couldn't get overall ratings from SISA.

Oy! The way I see it it is an error and problem with the game, not a suggestion or feature request. What is the point of overall ratings if you can't see them? If they didn't show up if you were playing in GM mode, would this still be a "suggestion or feature request"? I don't think so. Why is it one just because it's when playing in commish mode?

EDIT: Thanks for bringing it up with Markus though. Calling it a suggestion or feature request and moving it to this forum just makes me afraid it will be brushed off.

Markus has reviewed this, and he doesn't plan on changing this in a patch. I've asked him to consider it for the next full release.

There is a workaround to this issue, however; if you are the commissioner and want to see the overall ratings, you can simply turn off scouting temporarily, then turn it back on again. Not terribly slick, but most workarounds aren't.

Sorry that this isn't the news you were hoping for.
