No players names showing in-game

I've started the introductory 16 team league (that the manual suggests) to get used to the new interface and am slowly getting the hang of it except that whenever I play a game as manager or watch as spectator none of the players names or logos show on the broadcast screen ,only the ratings, making it impossibly confusing and frankly not a lot of fun. Am I making some elementary blunder? Any help would be appreciated.

O.K. I deleted the league, started another and everything seems to be working .
