How many are you expecting per year? According to this web page, it looks like an average of 3-4 a year.

Wow, I'm shocked! Maybe it's not a bug then. How come we never hear about triple plays? I always thought they were extremely rare. I think I've seen maybe two in my whole life.

I guess people only like offense plays and defensive plays are meh. That's probably one reason why soccer is not popular in the US.

If I am not maistaken, EACH player involved in a TP will count as one. That means that say the SS, 2B and 1B will all get one if it;s to them. There might not be as many there as you might think.
I am pretty sure that works with DP's. |
