Can't swing a dead cat w/o hitting a triple play!

See screenshot.

Mind you, this is in only 35 seasons.

Mac version, 1.0.2, yada yada yada.

How many are you expecting per year? According to this web page, it looks like an average of 3-4 a year.

Here's an analysis of triple-plays per 1000 innings based on decades. Depending on the era, you could have had quite a bit.

Wow, I'm shocked! Maybe it's not a bug then. How come we never hear about triple plays? I always thought they were extremely rare. I think I've seen maybe two in my whole life.

I guess people only like offense plays and defensive plays are meh. That's probably one reason why soccer is not popular in the US.

FWIW, I was watching specifically for TP's in one of my longer test sims (though that was still in 1.01), and it was running at an average of about 1 per season. That was a league with 480 total games per year...MLB has about 5 times as many, so if TP's run at 4 per year in MLB, I imagine the frequency I was seeing was pretty well in line.

If I am not maistaken, EACH player involved in a TP will count as one. That means that say the SS, 2B and 1B will all get one if it;s to them. There might not be as many there as you might think.

I am pretty sure that works with DP's.

That's a good point...whatever the total is, you'd have to divide that by something between two and three.

Hah, for once I get to close an Oak Dragon thread without logging an issue!

I think this is OK for now, moving to Claimed Fixed.
