I think he's upset because the kid is 15.

Yes, Joe Nuxhall did pitch part of an inning at age 15, before going back to finish high school. But that was during World War II and a very unusual situation.

No big deal, but I thought it might be a tipoff that something was amiss in minimum age possible for scout finds in foreign countries.

Oh, OK. I'll pass this along to Markus and see what he has to say. (Sorry, I had no idea who Joe Nuxhall was...)

You don't know who Joe Nuxhall is?

In my neck of the woods, he's a saint. In Cincinatti, he's Babe Ruth, Vin Scully, and Buck O'Neil all wrapped into one. He's got a statue outside the park. His catchphrase signoff" . . .rounding third and heading for home." is etched on the side of the ballpark. He invented right-left center field. His pbp partners were Al Michaels and Marty Brenneman

He's been with the Reds since 1944.

For my games, I rename GABP to Joe Nuxhall Field.

When he passes, he ought to lie in state for a week at the stadium to allow for everyone to pay their respects. Hopefully, that day is decades away.

This has been mentioned to Markus, but there won't be any change at this time. It shouldn't happen more than once in a blue moon.

Let me know if there's an epidemic, or if players start getting even younger!
