Please explain this crash
I finished a game. It was going through the save process and got to "evaluating players" or something similar to that. I got the error message that said:
Error signature AppName: ootp2006.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.0 ModName: ootp2006.exe ModVer: 1.0.0.0 Offset: 00089996 When I restarted the game it reverted to what I guess was the last save, which means I lost about a month's worth of games. What happened? I'm using version 1.0.2.12258, so I thought it was odd that AppVer says 1.0.0.0. I don't know much about error reporting; am I misunderstanding this? |

I just had the same crash with the same saved game, but this time while I was playing out a game. I've never reported a crash before and don't know what information I'm supposed to include.

What time in the season is it? Preseason, before all star break, etc.. What were you doing when it happened? Were you using more than one program while playing OOTP?
Another idea would be to try and reinstall the game and test the game again.. that version error says you don't have the latest and greatest version of the game..Hmm. How does a new game do? Does it crash as well? Only the saved game? What is your system specifications: CPU speed Hard Drive Size/Space Left Free Amount of Memory you have (RAM) Type of OS you use (Win/Mac) What size is your desktop (800 by 600 etc) What version does the game say you have at the beginning screen at the bottom left after it has fully loaded before you select load game? The latest version is 1.02.12262 so I definitely would upgrade.

Thanks, Dale. I'm not going to worry about it for now, now that I know that there is a newer patch. If I do have it happen again, I'll repost with my problems.
Just FYI, they both happened before the All-Star Break (it was May of a 1981 historical season using the ARod/Garlon rosters), the version was 1.0.2.12258, the system was Windows 2000, and the rest of the specifications I'm not sure about because I was playing on my computer at work. ![]() |

Sounds very similar to the problem that I was having. PLayed a full season up through the first few playoff games, then my league began to crash at every conceivable turn.
I was able to uninstall the game completely (after some tribulations) and reinstall (with most updated patch - which is a good idea, IMHO), and have enjoyed error and crash-free play ever since. ![]()

I'll uninstall/reinstall too. The WIP patches were nice to have, but I think that the process of going from one to the next may have opened a crash vortex somewhere in my league, and it's best just to start over.

If you uninstall then re-install, you should no longer have any problems with your league. I have been running error-free ever since (unless you count getting swept in the Championship Finals by a sub-.500 team).
