Forum Support Issue
I have another Forum Support issue. This has to do with the site, not the game.
First, thank you Andreas for the work you did on my last Forum support issue (non-notification of responses to my posts). If that is still occuring, it's happening so seldom that I don't notice it. What I AM noticing is a problem that occurs every day. When you're in the Out of the Park Baseball 2006 part of the forum, you see a list of sub-forums, such as Tech Support, Mods, etc. You're also supposed to see which thread in that sub-forum was the most recent to be posted into. Frequently, I do not. To give two examples that happened when I entered the site just now: Logged Issues in Tech Support said that the most recent thread was Strange Scouting News on 11-11-2006 11:19pm. When I entered Logged Issues, I saw that the most recent thread was actually "Remove From Pitching Staff" on 11-13-2006 0807pm. This is not a 'refresh screen' issue. It had been the top thread for four days now, through innumerable visits to that sub-forum, and it still hadn't registered. Second, the most recent thread in Mods was supposed to be Where to find first/last name lists on Today 07:24am. When I entered Mods, I saw that none of the several sub-sub-forums had any posts from today listed. For people (meaning me) who rely upon these precursors/previews/ads/notifications/whatever you want to call them, to figure out whether anything new has been added, this is a pain in the butt. You have to enter each sub- and sub-sub-forum individually to make sure that what's inside matches what's advertised, and AT LEAST once a day, it doesn't. |

I'll let Andreas know about this. Thanks.

I'll have a look at it, hopefully I find something on the vbulletin.com member forums.

It looks like this is only happening with threads that we move using the shortcuts you gave us to move items from Tech support to logged or closed. Hope that helps.

Looks like we have to live with it, but it will only happen in the OOTP Tech Support forums then... |

I think it's also the order things are done in. When I post to the thread before moving it, it doesn't show up as the last post. When I've posted to a thread after moving it, it does.

If that is the case, why did it affect the 'Where to find first/last name lists' post in Mods? It doesn't look as though that one was moved anywhere, but I've been wrong before.
And that one had the opposite problem, meaning it said it was there on the outer sub-forum preview, but not on any of the inner ones. Most of the time it's a matter of not showing up anywhere. |
