Pitchers Win Credit ST

Generally, ST allows starting pitchers only 4IP, which means the SP can be credited with a loss, but not a win. However, now and then (today for instance), I see my pitcher was credited with a win with 4IP. Is this a hit a miss? Rules any different for ST in some cases?

Footnote: Again, I'd like to see some uniformity in SP use in ST. If I, as an owner can use my SP for more than 4 IP, the AI should have the occasional option to do so as well. Otherwise, human controlled should be limited to 4 IP like the AI. IMHO

Probably 1998 Yankees will be along with the thread citation, but all I can say is that I remember this issue coming up in General Discussions some months ago. I thought I remembered that in spring training and All Star games you could get a victory if you started and pitched three or more complete, but I've been wrong before…
