invalid columns? whats this?

after playing several seasons my game has began sending the following msg
when going to the roster or transactions screen making the game
unplayable--I have tried the game fix utility included in the setup file to
no avail--please help !! I don't want to lose all the history I have
built---how do I save that if you want me to re-install the game ? I'm not
a big computor guy so make it simple, or detailed instructions PLEASE !

Heres the crash msg I get

TABLE_VIEW::get_from_data_device-invalid number of colums

click OK, get

TABLE ::create_grid-invalid number of display columns

click OK, get

TABLE::refresh_grid_invalid grid

click OK, then you can save and exit game.

This is probably an easy fix and won't require a reinstall. Please do the following:

1. Open up windows explorer.
2. Go to the directory where OOTP is installed, typically c:\program files\Sports Interactive\OOTP 2006
3. Within this folder, go to the data folder and then to the tables folder.
4. Select all of the items within this folder and delete them all.
5. Start the game back up and it will recreate all of these files and hopefully the issue will be fixed.
