What is causing this? (FaceGen issue)

I have a pretty high-end video card (nVidia GeForce 7800 GS OC AGP) I have no problems with this card on other games, ect. However, I get these nasty looking pictures of players sometimes and it is getting pretty annoying. I can fix the problem by changing the picture but I do not want to do this all the time. My drivers are updated, ect. I get this issue when looking at a players stats on the roster screen or while modifying the jersey, cap, ect. Any ideas?

For that particular image I don't remember but this happens when just looking at a players stats in the roster screen as well. I haven't seen it yet on the HTML screens or on the league leaders screens - and I don't think I will see it happen then. I think it is only happening where I said thet were. This is confusing and it sucks because I can get three-four players in a row like this and I have to manually reset the player picture by clicking on the "same picture".

I've seen people have issues where they loaded a jersey template that was too small and it would distort the image. I don't know if this applies to you or not.

Does it happen only to players on certain teams? or is it just random. If it was only players on the Reds, then at least it narrows down the problem.

Make sure your jersey templates (if you use them) are 512x512.

I haven't been using the actual templates but rather just the logos. In fact, I would rather use the templates but I have yet to find any done for the MLB. And yes, this is all random and not for just one or so particular team.

When I create mine, I use the jersey logos. From that, ithe game creates a template, which I upload to my photobucket for people to use. (I also upload the logo files)

Your problem seems pretty strange. I would recommend posting it in Tech Support.

I do agree that with your videocard, you should not have any problems

Heh, I am even getting them in the C:\Documents and Settings\Kyros\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games\MLBTest.lg\news\html\images

Yes sir I am. I am also using Deft's jersey templates as well. Heh, maybe you are on to something here. I did back-up all of my files so I will just delete the modified folder and then copy & paste the originals. I should have thought of that myself.

Any face pictures which you can see in OOTP are always png files in your /html/images folder. OOTP generates a face picture, saves it as a png in that folder, loads the png and displays it. So it does not have to do anything with *where* you see the picture.

Until now we've never seen a problem with Facegen that occured only sometimes. Either Facegen works on your computer or it doesn't. If your problem happens only sometimes, then I guess there's a problem with one of the jerseys, or with a hair model or something like that. Or probably with a background picture?!

All have been removed and originals put back into place(yes, I backed-up ) and I still get the same errors. I mean, you can see them in the save game lg folder under images as well.

To get rid of the corrupted images, you need to update them. You can do this, w/o changing the faces of the players, with the button "Force update" in the Game Setup/Player options screen.
