Job Offers?

Anyone have problems with zero job offers from the get go in your league?

I know I can go into commissioner mode, but, well, that seems like cheating.

I've always gotten a job offer or two from the start. It also depends on how big your league is. But you should have SOMETHING to choose from.

But wasn't what is now called "commissioner mode" the norm for earlier versions of OOTP?

Yeah, I've got nothing. Not even minor league openings. Wonder if this is specific to historical replay, since I haven't run into this in fictional play. Maybe just coincidence.

The retail version called Season Ticket Baseball...I forget the year.

I personally don't care for the "you can get fired" feature. Never used it, never will. It's my main gripe about SI's FM games.

Most of the time, I don't dig it, either. But sometimes...I like the random/not-so-random challenge of it.

Or the realisticness of it.

Off topic, what is Carrot Top doing with B-Peps?

If you're playing in commissioner mode, you'll never get any job offers. I just thought about that this morning...

Playing in GM mode. It even asks me if I want to switch to Commissioner mode to look for jobs. I find this amusing, but not impressive.

I'm blown away that my reputation as a GM is so bad that a bad Single-A team won't even take a chance on me.

Not a big deal, really. I'll just start at the Single-A level, turn off Commish mode, and see what else might be out there.
