Game won't start up after re-install

I had a recent motherboard issue, which led to me to decide to replace it. After getting the hardware swapped out, everything up and running, stabilized, etc., I re-installed OOTP.

It ran through the install just fine, but when I double click the icon to start the game, it briefly gives my the "working" cursor, and then quits loading. If you watch the process in Task Manager, you can see the program load for a split second and then vanish. No other symptoms. I've uninstalled the new install, and re-installed, same thing.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love 'em.

System Specs:
Asus Striker Extreme Motherboard
Intel Core Duo Quad Core Extreme
4 GB Corsair DDR2/800 RAM
Twin nVidia 8800GTX Video, 101.41 Drivers
Onboard RealTek Audio
Vista Ultimate x64
Plenty of room on a 750 Gb System Disk

Thanks

Are you trying to run the game as an administrator? I know the first time you run it you have to do this. Also, turn SLi off. I don't think the game supports it (yet? could have changed with the patch) and that might be causing a problem.

Solack is right - you need to right click on the OOTP icon and run as admin.

Let us know if this solves your problem so we can close this thread. Thx.

You guys were right. Running as Admin fixed it. I know that I didn't have to do that first time around...weird.

Thanks for your help.

You should also run as admin the first time after applying a patch.
